34th Annual Alzheimer’s Disease  Education & Training Conference

34th Annual Alzheimer’s Disease  Education & Training Conference

Scent Evidence K9 CEO, Paul Coley, will be presenting ways that family members and caregivers can protect those with Alzheimer’s Disease from wandering. Studies show that 6 out of 10 persons with dementia will wander and go missing.

Paul will introduce The Scent Preservation Kit® that was designed to collect and preserve a person’s unique odor so that K9 responders can locate them quickly and bring them home safe if they wander and get lost. Those with Alzheimer’s are considered to be at risk for wandering. Florida ranks second in the nation with 520,000 diagnosed with the disease. That population is expected to grow to over 700,000 in 10 years. Paul will also present additional safeguards that family members and caregivers can take to prepare for a wandering event.
