Our comprehensive M77® K9 Training Plan develops fundamental skills in dogs and handlers for human scent discriminate trailing. Handlers are taught to use the standardized processes contained in the plan for training canines to indicate the presence, absence, and path of a targeted person utilizing the scent of the identified individual. Our innovative trailing app gives handlers the ability to measure the success of each exercise in the field from their phone and meets all SWGDOG requirements.

Paul Coley – Founder & CEO, Scent Evidence K9 – Instructor
Paul is a former FBI Forensic Canine Operations Specialist and has dedicated his entire career to public service in the fields of education, law enforcement, criminal justice, investigations, forensics, and emergency management.
Paul founded Scent Evidence K9 in 2012 to help communities and law enforcement agencies improve their methods of locating missing persons. Like many other canine handlers, Paul faced the challenge of finding an effective scent article during deployments. He developed the life-saving Scent Preservation Kit® and “The SEKR” Scent Evidence Collection Vacuum to provide K9 Trailing responders with uncontaminated scent articles and on-scene scent collection methods that increase location success while reducing the time it takes to find a target.
Nick Cunningham – Master Trainer – Instructor
Nick is a former Sergeant of the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department with 29 years of law enforcement experience as a handler, trainer, and K-9 Unit Supervision.
In addition to handling and training multiple dual-purpose patrol dogs, bloodhounds, and single-purpose scent dogs, Nick brings a wealth of field experience as a patrol sergeant, sergeant in charge of the investigations bureau, crime scene unit, violent crimes task force, two different street crimes units, and K-9 unit.
Nick has worked numerous investigations with the FBI, DEA, ATF, Homeland Security, and Customs and is an M77 Certified Master K9 Trainer.
