Paul Coley Named as 2018 Police K9 Conference Instructor

Paul Coley – Founder & CEO, Scent Evidence K9

Paul is a former FBI Forensic Canine Operations Specialist and has dedicated his entire career to public service in the fields of education, law enforcement, criminal justice, investigations, forensics, and emergency management.

As a member of the FBI Evidence Response Team, he has deployed human scent evidence K9 Trailing teams in cases across the United States. Paul has also served as an instructor for National Academy Classes at FBI Academy and presented his scent discrimination techniques during the 2017 International Scent Summit in Austria.

Paul founded Scent Evidence K9 in 2012 to help communities and law enforcement agencies improve their methods of locating missing persons. Like many other canine handlers, Paul faced the challenge of finding an effective scent article during deployments. He developed the first scientifically-tested and proven Scent Preservation Kit® to provide K9 Trailing responders with an uncontaminated scent article that can increase location success and reduce find time.

Paul and his wife Donna, Executive VP and co-founder, have also developed the first standardized Scent Discriminate K9 Training program and have opened a new 1000-acre training facility in West Tennessee to deliver world-class Trailing K9’s for law enforcement agencies across the country.

By forging a partnership with Florida State University Emergency Management and Homeland Security, Scent Evidence K9 is able to integrate UAS/drone technology into the K9 Trailing process that creates greater visibility and safer working conditions for handlers.

Paul and his team are committed to helping communities and law enforcement agencies improve their methods of locating missing persons and bringing them home safely. To help face the challenges of handlers in the field, he founded Scent Evidence K9 to provide the first scientifically-tested and proven Scent Preservation Kit® to provide K9 Trailing responders with an uncontaminated scent article to increase location success and reduce find time. Theyalso developed the M77® Scent Discriminate K9 Training program to deliver world-class Trailing K9’s to law enforcement agencies across the country.

Paul and his team have also partnered with the Florida State University Emergency Management and Homeland Security Department to integrate UAS/drone technology.
